Our Story
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford was founded by the Carolina Foothills Foundation to meet a growing need for youth programs in our community. After two years of planning, research, and collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we received approval to launch a new club right here in Rutherford County.
Opening August 11th 2026, our Club will provide a safe, supportive, and fun space for local kids—starting with grades 1-5 expanding to serve other grades in the future. From academic support to health, leadership, and creative programs, we’re building a place where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Club is made possible by the Carolina Foothills Foundation and housed at 376 Hudlow Road in Forest City, with a dedicated gym coming soon. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on community support to grow and sustain this vital resource for local youth.
We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome the next generation of leaders. Enrollment applications will begin June 1st.
“Every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and dream. That’s why we started the Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford—to give our youth the support, opportunities, and encouragement they need to build great futures.”.
Our Mission
The Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford’s mission is to help all young people—especially those who need us most—reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. We will begin with grades 1–5 and grow over time, offering engaging, evidence-based programs alongside strong relationship-building and social/emotional support. Our safe, inclusive environment encourages learning, recreation, and connection, guided by dedicated staff focused on academic success, good character, and healthy lifestyles.
So much more than daycare!
